Hoping to jump start my creativity and get over my burn out from the endless amount of races and events that I have photographed from the past several months, I’ve decided to join my friend Cathy in her “100 Days of Summer” project, photographing daily anything that strikes my fancy from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
I kinda sorta cheated a bit with this photo and the next two I have planned because the last several days were rainy and stormy and extra big and busy with a three day bike festival that took up all my time . . . and the last bit of creative fresh eyes that I possess. I took this last week as David and I were driving along gravel roads in preparation of a gravel race that was part of the festival’s events. I liked the blue sky and the soft clouds and the way that one little weed was poking proudly up, defying convention. It reminded me of a summer’s day in Kansas.
