I am Kate Austin, a professional sports and outdoor adventure photographer located in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  I photograph mountain bike races, gravel races, cyclocross races, little kids bike races, outdoor bike festivals . . .  in short, if it has two wheels I'll be there taking pictures next to my husband, David. We've been capturing life on two wheels since 2017, and love every minute of it.  You can view our work here: Kate Austin Photography.

I began taking daily pictures of my life back in 2010 as a means to teach myself photography. I find that what I’m attracted to and stops me in my tracks is beautiful pockets of light, daily details like a toad in my garden or the way chocolate icing glistens on top of a cake when the late afternoon sunlight hits it just right. I notice the little things that other people overlook and these are what I capture with my camera.

Let's see, what are some other things you might want to know about me? I love laughing hard, and thankfully David and our two grown kids are more than happy to oblige. I love U2, being a huge fan of them since I was in junior high, even converting my English professor dad to the ways of Bono and The Edge. I have a thing for bears, secretly hoping that one day David will surprise me with my very own bear cub that we can raise in our backyard. I am a "retired" runner, having run for 40 years, and discovering that daily walking is really pretty pleasant. I am an avid reader, having followed in my dad's footsteps and earning my B.A. in English. I have yet to put away the books. I am a huge advocate for getting outdoors, hiking, riding my bike, paddle boarding when I can get the chance, puttering around in my flower gardens, or just sitting out on our back porch and bird watching. Our daughter says I'm like a flower: just give me lots of sunshine, a little bit of dirt and a splash of water and I'm happy.

And that really pretty much sums me up.
